A Quick Guide to Selecting Coding Camps

What makes a good Coding Camp? With the growing trend of enrolling in Coding Camps, more and more parents are starting to ask themselves this question. This question is becoming harder and harder to answer as more Coding Camps begin to appear.

Surprisingly, it’s not really hard to answer this question. Below are some tips in identifying if the Coding Camp is good or bad.


  1. Equipment. When choosing a Coding Camp, make sure to take note of the equipment they are using. With the limited number of hours, it is common sense that the newer the equipment is the better, because this will drastically reduce delays or confusion caused by faulty equipment.
  2. Qualification of Instructors. It is imperative that the instructors for the courses should be experienced, and knows the topic they are teaching like the back of their hand. This is important, because the more experienced the teacher is, the faster they will be able to identify and resolve the problems to the students are facing.
  3. Ratio 6:1 is ideal. The number of students per class is also something that you need to pay attention to. This is really important, because the less student there is the more attention and time the teacher can give to each student.
  4. Variety of Courses. The progressive nature of programming makes it easier to learn coding on a step by step basis. Good Coding Camps usually take this into consideration, and design their courses with a progressive step by step approach. 
  5. To Play or to Create. Coding Camp who let the kids design the games they play is a sign of a good Coding Camp. Why is it you ask? Coding Camps that encourage students to design, and make their own games helps motivate the kid’s confidence, enable them to express their creativity, and also allows them to exercise the things they learned in class.
  6. Curriculum. The way the lessons are delivered is also important. Kids tend to learn faster if they are interested, and engaged in the activities. The more memorable the experience for them the easier it is to recall the information.

為了等待解決教具的故障,而導致中斷學習。

2.師資及經驗
教師必須有豐富的教學經驗,因為老師的經驗越多,就能更快速的了解學生學習上的困難,立即糾正指導,幫助學生在學習上更有效率。

3.小班制1對6較理想
每個班級的學生人數也是您需要注意的事項。這非常重要,因為學生越少,教師可以給予每個學生更多的關注和指導。

4.多階段課程選擇
好的程式設計營隊,會提供孩子多階段課程選擇,讓孩子可以循序漸進的學習適合自己的課程,引發孩子學習的興趣,讓孩子更加自信學習。

5.玩及創作
孩子們開心的在遊戲中學習程式設計,進而設計自己獨一無二的遊戲,是一個好的程式設計營隊所需具備的。為什麼呢?鼓勵學生設計和製作自己的遊戲,
有助於激發孩子的自信心,使他們能夠表達自己的創造力,並讓他們將課堂上學到的能力展示出來。

6.課程
課程的內容也很重要。如果孩子對程式設計的學習感興趣,他們往往會學得更快,並將這個學習記憶住,將來再次接觸的時候也較容易上手。
