Our Ancient Greece Class is currently in session for the second week now. The students have become increasingly active and engaged in class discussions. There is not a day where the classroom is silent for more than a few seconds. Laughter and enthusiastic declarations of who the strongest Greek God envelop the classroom, rendering the entire atmosphere an educationally enjoyable one. This week, all of our students were already very interested in Greek history and culture before they arrived. We love listening to their interesting conversations and competitive debates about Greek facts. The unique ways in which we conduct our classes allow the children to thrive in an enriching environment that encourages an abundance in creativity. Coincidently, the students enrolled in our camps are all already extremely original, always thinking out of the box. Their penchant for creativity makes every day in camp exciting and refreshing for the staff of Lighthouse Camps. We observe something new at every day at camp! For example, the other day, in the Ancient Greece Camp, one of the students brought a book on Ancient Greece and hosted a reading club during break out of the blue. All the students gathered their thoughts on what they learned in class and contributed any memorable information they could think of. It was the first time we at Lighthouse Camps have ever seen the children be this diligent in enhancing their educational experience. The kids loved the Ancient Greece class so much that they wanted to be enlightened even during their break time! Greek Gods like Minotaur, King Midas, Hercules, and many more were brought up during the reading session. It was hard to believe how devoted the kids were to Ancient Greece. Oh, how we wish this Ancient Greece Camp never ends!
